# Le métier de directeur de photographe de plateau de cinéma : Rencontre avec Fabien MALOT

### **Fabien MALOT :** le métier de directeur de photographe de plateau de cinéma *Jeudi 6 décembre 2018*

**Fabien MALOT**

Le photographe de plateau raconte la technique de tournage, le travail d’équipe, le jeu des comédiens. Il doit toujours être aux aguets et prendre les hommes du cinéma dans leur réalité. Il doit aussi inscrire le patrimoine dans son champ artistique.

Le photographe de plateau est au service d’une promotion, d’un placement de produit ou de la technique. Il travaille en général pour une chaine TV ou une production. Ses photos sont utilisées pour de la promotion, par la presse, par les magazines, etc. Après le shooting, il y a bien évidemment les retouches d’images qui doivent être validées par la production. En ce qui concerne les photos de promotion des comédiens, celles-ci doivent aussi être validées par leurs agents artistiques.

### Les conseils de Fabien pour réussir une photo de plateau :

**Être complétement silencieux.** Au départ Fabien Malot utilisait un blimp (caisson) pour appareil photo. Aujourd’hui, il fait appel aux boitiers à visée numérique sans bruit.

**Ne jamais prendre le même cadre de l’image que le plan cinéma.** Il faut plutôt photographier les conditions dans le jeu. Aller chercher le plan serré quand le plan cinéma est large et pas le contraire. Seul le photographe de plateau peut avoir à la fois le champ et le contre-champ du fait de la présence de la caméra !

**Trouver sa place.** Comme il y a toujours trop de monde sur un plateau, le photographe doit toujours trouver un « espace » sans gêner personne. Ce qui n’est pas toujours évident !

**Jeter une image.** Si une image ne raconte pas quelque chose, il ne faut pas la garder !

Bien que silencieux, souvent à l’écart ou niché dans un endroit improbable, le photographe de plateau n’est pas seul car il appartient à une famille !
